Fall Varsity/JV Tryout Information-as of July1st

All scholar-athletes in grades 9-12 interested in trying out for this fall’s Varsity and Junior Varsity volleyball teams, tryouts are scheduled to begin on Monday, July 27th and continue throughout the next following weeks. Times and locations are still pending. Please check back for more update information later in the month. Contact Coach Chris Blake with any questions.

We will be hosting and participating in the 10th annual King Kamehameha Volleyball Classic on Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th at Kekuhaupi’o and Keawe Gyms. Please kokua and come to help us make this tournament a success and support our scholar-athletes as they compete against teams from all over the country. Summer Volleyball Practices and Workouts

Our summer volleyball practices are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45pm - 6pm at Kekuhaupi’o gym starting on June 9th and continuing through the summer. It is open to all current and incoming Kamehameha students in grades 7 through 12. Contact Coach Chris Blake  with your questions.

The Varsity team beats Punahou for the ILH Championship

The Varsity team played Punahou for the second time in four days. We pulled together and had a great team win. We won in 3 tough sets (25-15, 25-21, 27-25). Mahalo nui to all of the supporters and cheerleaders that helped make our gym into a great venue for volleyball and helped the team to their fourth consecutive ILH title.

Next up for the the team will be the HHSAA State Championships Nov 5-8.  The schedule is posted here. The Varsity team earned the top seed in the tournament and will be playing it’s first match on Thursday evening at 7pm at Kekuhaupi’o. Come on down to the gym and support our girls. See you there.

Thank you to the banquet committee for their hard work and effort in making our program banquet one to remember. Mahalo to all the scholar-athletes, coaches and supporters for a wonderful and successful season.

The Varsity team victorious against Iolani in 5 sets

The Varsity team played a very tough Iolani team and we were able to come together and pulled out a hard fought victory in 5 sets (18-25, 27-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-11). Mahalo nui to all of the supporters that helped our team to victory, to Mr. Bright for leading the Band, to Mr. Ako for getting the cheerleaders and making it all possible.

The team has qualified for states and will be playing Punahou for the 2nd round championship. The site and time will be announced shortly and I will update the site when it is confirmed. Mahalo nui for the support and we’ll see you at our next game. 

Congratulations to the JV Blue - ILH Division I Champions

Great job last night as both JV teams played great volleyball in the JV Championship game. The JV Blue won the JV Championship in 2 sets over the JV White team. Congratulations to both teams and coaching staffs for another very successful finish. Kamehameha volleyball teams finishing 1st and 2nd shows the work ethic, talent and teamwork that bring the success to our program. Imua. 

Congratulations to the Intermediate teams

Congratulations to the Intermediate teams as they finished their successful seasons this past weekend. The Inter White finished with a 6-6 record and finished 7th place out of 13 teams. The Inter Blue finished their undefeated season with a win over Iolani Black at Iolani (20-18, 25-23, 16-20) to capture the ILH Division I Championship. Great job by all scholar-athletes, coaching staff and a big mahalo to all the parents and supporters that helped make this season a success. IMUA KAMEHAMEHA!

Ka ipu ‘aina - Varsity Service Project

The Varsity team participated in a Beach Clean-up on Saturday, September 6th. We helped to clean up the He’eia Kea Pier area, near the Kaneohe Canoe Club halau. Mahalo to the players and parents who put in the great work. Check on the photos page for pictures.
